We have been wanting to come to this restaurant for a long time. I live out of town so we made it a point to go here this time for Mother's Day weekend what a treat! We had swordfish halibut scallops and the appetizers were crab cakes octopus lobster mac and cheese and the sides were brussel sprouts broccolini wild mushrooms and crispy potatoes. We topped it off with the awesome bottle of Ramey Chardonnay 2023 which I had never had before and I will definitely order next time because I absolutely loved it. For dessert they brought us a raspberry bar and s'mores once again delicious. Make it a point to come to this restaurant it is totally worth it
My wonderful fiancé surprised me for my birthday by taking me here for the first time, and let me express how amazing Top of the Market is. I first want to thank Kayla C for making our first time visiting so wonderful. She was so kind and gave amazing recommendations! My personalized Happy Birthday menu was so special! I got the Ahi Tuna and it was so flavorful and buttery. It was a little on the spicy side, but delicious! My fiancé got the Wild Alaskan Halibut that Kayla recommended and he absolutely loved it. Best part of our experience was personally the dessert 🍮 Kayla also recommended (I don’t remember the exact name) I believe it was the Espresso Crème brûlée and it was delicious. Not too rich and the chocolate mousse was amazing. Thank you Top of the Market for an amazing birthday experience!
Foods could be better as I found it too salty and sour on the sauce in both seabass and sword fish dish. Desserts… guava cheesecake, the guava syrup was sour and a bit overpowering. Creme brulee was good but the shell was fully covered by the toppings, would look more artsy if arranged nicely like deconstructed style on a plate. My kids loved the smore’s pie. The view was gorgeous, and I like when the staffs was polite, L didn’t check on us too often and let us having our own time without feeling abandoned.
An outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The seafood is impeccably fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. Every dish felt intentional and elevated without being pretentious. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced, making the entire evening feel seamless and relaxed. The waterfront setting adds to the experience, but the quality of the food and hospitality is what truly sets this restaurant apart. Easily one of the best seafood meals I’ve had in San Diego and absolutely worth the visit.
My husband and I eat at The Top Of The Market often because the food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared, with interesting influences and progressive techniques. In the 30 years that I’ve been eating there, I’ve had so many wonderful meals, and lovely experiences. My last meal there was the Australian lobster tail in vanilla sauce. ( see picture). It tasted even better than it looked, and it looked fantastic. See you there!
