Brunch at Morning Glory was an unforgettable experience for me and my fiancé. We waited about 30 minutes to get in, which felt fair given how lively and packed the place was. We ended up sitting at the bar, which actually made the experience even better—right in the middle of the energy, with a great view of everything happening. The drinks alone were a highlight—beautifully crafted, visually stunning, and almost too pretty to sip. For food, we went all in. I had the chicken and waffles, a side of sausage, grilled polenta with shrimp, and the khachapuri with bacon. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor, but the khachapuri stole the show completely. The bread was soft and pillowy, the cheese rich and perfectly melted, and the bacon added that smoky finish that made it unforgettable—I’m still thinking about it. The chicken and waffles were crisp, sweet, and comforting, with the chicken being especially tender and seasoned perfectly, pairing incredibly well with the waffles. The sausage was well-seasoned and satisfying, and the shrimp with polenta was creamy, savory, and beautifully balanced. Despite how busy it was, the service stayed smooth and attentive, and the food came out faster than expected. Overall, it was a perfect brunch spot—vibrant atmosphere, incredible food, and an experience worth repeating. Easy 10/10, and I’d absolutely go back—just earlier next time to beat the crowd.

We had been looking forward to dining at Morning Glory for a while now, and it’s not disappoint. My wife had the incredible soufflé pancakes, and I had a classic eggs Benny. Both were some of the best food we had eaten in San Diego in a long time that wasn’t Mexican or seafood. I was going to have a coffee, but then I caved into my wife and had a passionfruit mimosa, and then another. We were very grateful to be able to sit at the bar outside, and our bartender was incredible, and hospitable. We will definitely be back on our next trip to San Diego to visit my family.

We are so glad we finally made it to Morning Glory! The entire experience was absolutely phenomenal. We stopped by without a reservation early on a Friday around 9:30 AM. The dining room was already packed, so we opted for seats at the bar, which turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Our bartender, JJ, was incredible, he made our experience amazing! When we mentioned it was my husband’s birthday, he immediately surprised him with a stunning, customized espresso martini. It was such a thoughtful, unexpected touch! The drinks here are next-level. Their Bloody Mary is hands-down the best we’ve ever had, featuring a unique twist where all the pickled garnishes are served separately in their own jar. Food-wise, we both ordered omelets (one lobster, one cheese). While the presentation was beautiful, the eggs themselves tasted pretty standard, not bad by any means, just not the absolute best we've ever encountered. That said, the overall execution and vibe of this place easily feel Michelin-grade. I was also incredibly impressed by the cleanliness and the meticulous attention to detail. The branding is seamless as everything from the staff uniforms and glassware to the china and napkins (both paper and cloth) features the Morning Glory logo. We are so happy we went and cannot wait to return the next time we are visiting San Diego!

I recently visited Morning Glory, and while I can see why it’s so popular, my experience didn’t live up to the hype. The decor is undeniably beautiful and very Instagram-worthy, which seems to be a big part of the appeal. However, once seated, I noticed several barstools had worn embellishments hanging off them, which made parts of the space feel a bit run down and not as clean as expected. Even my paper menu was damp and had an unpleasant smell, which wasn’t a great first impression. The food portions were actually well-sized, not oversized, which I appreciated, and the pricing seemed reasonable for the concept. I ordered the wagyu flat iron steak & eggs (around $30), but unfortunately it came out overcooked and tough to chew. We also ordered the breakfast carbonara, which had mint that felt out of place and gave the dish an unexpected, almost toothpaste-like flavor. The biggest issue, though, was with their famous soufflé pancake. We added fresh blackberries, but it was served with live fruit fly larvae, which completely ruined the experience for our table. Needless to say, we were all pretty grossed out and couldn’t continue enjoying the meal. To their credit, management handled the situation kindly and comped our meal, which we appreciated. Still, after a two-hour wait and the overall experience, it didn’t feel worth the time or the anticipation. Overall, while the aesthetic is pretty, I don’t think I would return or recommend it based on this visit.

What a fantastic experience from start to finish. We sat at the bar and everything was outstanding. The Steak & Eggs with Australian Wagyu skirt steak was cooked perfectly, the Breakfast Carbonara was rich and delicious, and the fried rice was so good we're glad we decided to share it. A special shoutout to Linda, who took great care of us and made the experience even better with her friendly and attentive service. We'll definitely be back!
